DEAR TEACHERS!!!   We are now taking reservations for the fall field trips.  Please click on the field trip tabs for information and you can also register online.  Please register you first choices of preferable times and you will be contacted very quickly to let you know if they are available.  We have found this much more efficient than playing phone tag. There is a place for comments if you have any questions.  Lauralee will phone or email you usually within one day.

PICKING CONDITIONS. As of Tuesday Aug 18:

WATKINSVILLE:  BLUEBERRY SEASON is over. We had a very good season, and we appreciate all of you who came out to pick!  If  you missed the season, please sign up below to be on our email list.

LOGANVILLE:  HAS CLOSED FOR THE SEASON.  BE SURE TO GET ON OUR E-MAIL LIST. 

CALL BEFORE YOU COME OUT: 706-769-0627 (Watkinsville #) and  770-554-8119 (Loganville #)  It is always a good idea to check our website or call before coming to the farm. 

WE NEED YOUR HELP!  The power company is planning on running a HUGE TRANSFORMER POWER LINE over our Watkinsville farm.  Our hayrides will go almost directly under this line.  Also, part of our blueberry and blackberry plants  will be almost directly under this power line.  We have many children on fieldtrips come to enjoy our farm as well as you. Many of these children have never picked fruits or vegetables themselves. Some have never been on a farm.  We feel that this power line will distract from the farm experience, especially the hayrides.  

HOW CAN YOU HELP? Right now while you are on the internet PLEASE e-mail Jeannine Rispin (Georgia Power) at jeannine.rispin@gatrans.com or call her at 404-375-6095.  You may also e-mail Melvin Davis (Oconee Co. Board of Commissioners) at mdavis@oconee.ga.us  Please be polite but ask them not to run the power line near Washington Farms. If you feel so inclined, please express any positive experiences you may have had at our farm. We sincerely thank you very much! 

Be sure to sign up and get on our e-mail list so you can get a few reminders for strawberry, blueberry and blackberry seasons next year! We only send out 5 or 6 e-mails each year when each season starts and for notices of peak picking times. Don't miss out! Sign up below!
